NONINO, 120 YEARS OF DISTILLATION WITH ARTISANAL METHOD FROM ORAZIO TO BENITO, FROM BENITO TO CRISTINA, ANTONELLA AND ELISABETTA
The Nonino Family has devoted itself to the art of Distillation since 1897, the year when Orazio Nonino, the family founder, established in Ronchi di Percoto the premises of his distillery, which until then had existed only as itinerant still; in 1973 they create the single varietal Grappa, Monovitigno® Nonino, and revolutionize the way of producing and introducing grappa in Italy and throughout the world. In 1984 they distill the whole grape and create the Grape Distillate ÙE® (Ministerial Authorization for the production of the Grape Distillate D.M. 20.10.84). In 2003 they are awared the prestigious Leonardo Prize for Italian Quality for the absolute Quality, Research and Innovation”, the Noninos are considered “the true Ambassadors of Italian Grappa throughout the World”. 12th January 2017 The Nonino Revolution “from Cinderella into a Queen of the market”, carried on by Giannola – the wife of Benito, the exceptional distiller – is selected as a case study by the London School of Ecnomics (LSE) Business Review. March 2017 Nonino is “Spirit Entrepreneur of the Year” Meininger Award.
Nonino Grappa and ÙE® are obtained from fresh primary products distilled 100% with artisanal method in their own copper batch steam stills in Ronchi di Percoto. Nonino Aged and Riserva Grappa and ÙE® have always followed a natural ageing in barriques and small casks under seal and permanent surveillance by the Customs and Monopoly Agency in the 5 Grappa Ageing Warehouses (M.I.G.) of the Nonino Distilleries and are bottled with 0% color additives. The Noninos carry on the evolution of Grappa – Italian Cocktail Spirit, protagonist of fabulous cocktails and Aperitifs.
